LEARN TO IDENTIFY AND DISMANTLE RACISM

Anti-Racism Learning Guides

The first step to dismantling systemic racism is to do the work of learning and relearning the historical, theoretical, and conceptual frameworks used to illustrate, identify, and describe race and racism.

In order to engage in effective discourse and find our own voices in activist movements, we must build awareness of our own beliefs and ideas and understand how those beliefs and ideas contribute to or uphold systems of oppression. When we do the parallel work of interrogating our personal worldview while at the same time actively participating in collective action, we can begin to dismantle racism at the institutional and systemic levels.

Let these guides be a starting point for the evaluation of how our own beliefs, ideas, and actions interact with oppressive systems.

The guides are not exhaustive, but are curated with deliberate and intentional focus on providing information in a way that encourages deeper independent study. The modules are progressive, so start at the beginning with Volume I.

These guides are intended for knowledge exploration, personal reflection, and critical analysis of issues related to the way race and racism impact systems and institutions in the United States and globally.
